How to increase comments on your blog

It will be trivial but sometimes the comments don’t come simply because you don’t ask to comment!

One of the most important elements of a blog, in fact, are what are called calls to action (CTA) , i.e. calls to action . These are small commands – usually in the form of text, buttons or images – that help the reader understand what he has to do at that moment. Some examples of textual call to action? Here they are:And just through a call to action you can also invite the reader to leave a comment under your articles , perhaps asking him to express his opinion on what he has just read:

  • “Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.”
  • “Let me know your opinion by leaving a comment”
  • “Tell me about your experience in the comments below!”
  • … and so on.

So if you want to get more comments, start by asking for them!

Ask open-ended questions

Open-ended questions are also a great way to attract new comments, especially if the questions are followed by a direct call to action that invites Bulk SMS Netherlands the reader to answer your question:

  • Did you like this article? Let me know in the comments below!
  • What do you think of the topic we just saw? Let me know your opinion in the comments.
  • Have you ever found yourself in this situation? Tell me about your experience in the comments below this article.
  • … etc.

 Increase traffic to your blog

A few years ago, Nielsen conducted a very interesting study which revealed a detail that hasn’t gone unnoticed by the blogosphere: only about 10% of users actively participate in online discussions.

Although this research was carried out a few years ago and I’m not sure if the data is still  reliable, one thing is certain: only a small number of people who visit your blog will actively contribute with a comment.

I’m telling you from experience that this figure is unlikely to come close to 10% of Nielsen’s research, which actually included forums and social media as well. Most likely, your comment conversions will hover below 1% .

Just think that one of the most viewed and commented Leads Blue articles on my blog currently has nearly 130 comments out of a total of over 100,000 views. This means that to get a good number of comments, you need to be able to have a constant flow of people visiting your content .

And to do this, you will therefore have to be able to increase the traffic of your blog and make it constant over time, trying to position it at the top of Google’s SERPs .

If your article only gets a handful of views, then don’t worry if it doesn’t have many comments, that’s completely normal. However, start asking yourself some questions. If an article receives no comments when it has tens of thousands of monthly visits.
